WOMEN'S MINISTRIES EVENTS

Sister Care Seminar ~ March 23-24
All women are invited to attend Sister Care Seminar, sponsored by Mennonite Women USA and held at SMC. Come and explore such topics as claiming our identity as God's beloved, caring for self and others, and transforming grief and loss. Sister Care Seminar validates women's gifts of caring and equips them to respond more effectively to the needs of others in their lives and congregations. Visit Sister Care for more information and registration forms, or stop by the Welcome Table in the main foyer. If you have any questions, contact Vicki Clark: 215-723-3088 x10 or email.

WEEKLY EVENTS
The Holy Spirit ~ Women's Bible Study ~ 7 p.m., Room 304/6 ~ part of our Wednesday Community Nights
"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6) Join us as we survey what the Scriptures teach us about the Holy Spirit and His work in the world and in our lives from both the Old and the New Testaments. Led by Janet Uetz and Lydia Clemmer.

MONTHLY EVENTS

Quilt-N-Knot ~ First Tuesday of every month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. & 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The next Quilt 'N Knot will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
All skill levels are welcome to join us on the first Tuesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall to quilt and knot comforters for mission projects (often for Mennonite Central Committee). You're welcome to come to both sessions or to stay for whatever your schedule allows. We will gladly teach newcomers how to knot - it's 'knot" hard at all! Over lunch, we share devotions, prayer, and fellowship.

Prayer Shawl Ministry ~ first Tuesday of every month, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The next Prayer Shawl meeting will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
Join us on the first Tuesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall foyer to knit and crochet prayer shawls to give to people going through difficult times, such as the loss of a loved one or a serious illness. The women "knit" prayers and blessings into the shawl. Beginners are welcome, and we are happy to teach you how to knit or crochet.

MCC Project of the Month
Everyone is invited to support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in their world-wide relief work through making school kits, health kits, donating blankets, and more.
February 2012 MCC Project ~ Hygiene Kits ~ Hygiene kits are often presented to children living in refugee camps who do not have access to hygiene supplies. Some are given to women in rural education centers to encourage health care. People in such countries as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haiti, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine have received hygiene kits in the past few years. Stop by the table in the main hallway for bags to fill with the following new items. Please return the filled bags to the table.

  • 1 toothbrush (adult size; wrapper)
  • 1 squeeze-tube toothpaste (minimum 6 oz; leave in box)
  • 1 large bar of bath soap
  • 1 fingernail clipper
  • 1 hand towel (larger than fingertip, dark color)
  • Blocks for Blankets
Help us warm our little corner of the world by knitting or crocheting 7" x 9" blocks! Our Prayer Shawl Ministry will then stitch the blocks together to form a blanket. The blankets will be donated to Keystone Opportunity Center in Souderton and Urban Promise in Camden, New Jersey. Click here for more details.
