HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Souderton Mennonite Church has long been including and accommodating people with differing abilities.

  • There are designated handicap parking spots.
  • Bathrooms are handicap accessible.
  • There are spaces for wheelchairs within the pews in our Sanctuary.
  • All floors are accessible by elevator.
  • A ramp at the rear of the altar/stage in the Sanctuary provides access for those in wheelchairs to be on the stage as part of the service or singing with the choir.
  • There is deaf interpretation. Sign language is available weekly at the 11:15 a.m. Worship service and during Sunday School, as well as other church activities (if requested).
  • A Sound Mate hearing system is available for the hearing impaired.
  • Persons with disabilities are Greeters.

  • We arrange weekly transportation for a blind person to and from church on Sundays and other church activities.
  • Ushers are prepared to assist persons with disabilities to their seat, if needed.
  • A person in a wheelchair has held a Bible Study in their home.
  • Persons with disabilities are integrated and included into church life, not segregated and separated.
