WOMEN'S MINISTRY EVENTS

Women's Summer Morning Bible Study, 9:30 to 11 a.m.
All women are invited to join a monthly Bible Study held on Mondays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Susan Freeman's home. We will meet for a time of sharing and prayer on June 14, July 12, August 9, and September 13. If you have any questions, please contact Deb Kratz or the church office at 215-723-3088 or via email.

Yoga for Christian Women ~ begins Monday, September 13
Women of all fitness levels and ages are invited to learn yoga-style exercises that will build muscle, strengthen bones, and improve joint flexibility. Classes are held on Mondays, beginning September 13, 2010, from 7:10 to 8:20 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The first two classes attended are free, and then it's $10 per class, payable that night for those who can afford it. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and hand towel, and wear comfortable clothing.
Please use the entrance at the corner of Wile Ave. & Chestnut St.; parking lot is across the street.

Quilt-N-Knot ~ First Tuesday of every month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. & from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
All skill levels are welcome to join us in the Fellowship Hall to quilt and knot comforters for mission projects (often for Mennonite Central Committee). You're welcome to come to both sessions or to stay for whatever your schedule allows. We will gladly teach newcomers how to knot - it's 'knot" hard at all! Over lunch, we share devotions, prayer, and fellowship.

Prayer Shawls ~ First Tuesday of every month, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Join us in the Fellowship Hall foyer to knit and crochet prayer shawls to give to people going through difficult times, such as the loss of a loved one or a serious illness. The women "knit" prayers and blessings into the shawl. Beginners are welcome, and we are happy to teach you how to knit or crochet.

Blocks for Blankets
Help us warm our little corner of the world by knitting or crocheting 7" x 9" blocks! Our Prayer Shawl Ministry will then stitch the blocks together to form a blanket. The blankets will be donated to Keystone Opportunity Center in Souderton and Urban Promise in Camden, New Jersey. Click here for more details.

MCC Project of the Month
Everyone is invited to support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in their world-wide relief work through making school kits, health kits, donating blankets, and more.
August 2010 MCC Project ~ Our August 2010 Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) project is School Kits. School kits are MCC's most-requested item. Notebooks and pencils become treasures to families who struggle to afford basic school supplies. School kits are also given to refugee and displaced children, helping students and teachers add some normalcy to disrupted lives. They are frequently requested after natural disasters. MCC sends school kits to places including Iraq, Nicaragua, North Korea and to poorly funded schools in Canada and the United States.
Stop by the MCC table in the main hallway to pick up a kit bag and fill it with the following NEW items:

  • 4 spiral or perforated notebooks (about 21.5cm x 27cm / 8.5in x 10.5in and 70 sheets U.S.
  • 4 unsharpened pencils
  • 1 ruler (flat, flexible plastic; indicating both 30cm and 12in)
  • 12 colored pencils (in packaging)
  • 1 large pencil eraser

  • arger than fingertip, dark color)
