What to Expect
When you arrive
Enter at the main entrance under the carport on the side of the building, along Chestnut Street. The entrance is handicapped accessible and an elevator services each floor of our building.
You will be warmly welcomed at the door by our hospitality team who will answer any questions you may have and direct you to either our 9 or 11:15 a.m. Worship service or a Sunday School class at 10:10 a.m. They will also invite you to sign the guest book.
Worship Services
- Our 9 a.m. Worship Service lasts 1 hour and includes prayer, singing, scripture reading, sermon (approximately 20 minutes), and offering. A variety of music is included in the service, most of which are hymns. We use Hymnal: A Worship Book, Sing the Journey, and Sing the Story. People of all ages are often involved in the service—from worship and song leaders to scripture readers and children's stories.
- Our 11:15 a.m. Worship Service lasts 1 hour and includes prayer, singing, scripture reading, sermon (approximately 20 minutes), and offering. The music is contemporary praise songs.
- For Children ~ On the first and third Sunday of each month, children ages 3 through Kindergarten are invited to Children's Church. On the second and fourth Sunday, children are invited to gather near the front of the sanctuary to listen to a story that connects with the morning's scripture and worship theme. On fifth Sundays, children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be invited to a Children’s Story Time in the Library during the worship services. They will enjoy a story and activity that follows the morning’s theme. After the services, parents may meet their child(ren) in the Library.
After the worship service
Many people will introduce themselves to you. We enjoy meeting new people.
Sunday School, 10:10 - 11:10 a.m
There are Sunday School classes for all ages. (Click for more information about children's classes or adult classes.) A Welcome Table attendant will direct you to the class of your choice.
Other information
- Child care for newborns to 36 months is available in our Nursery during both Worship Services and Sunday School.
- Common attire is anything from jeans to dressier outfits.
- Hearing aids and large-print materials for use during the Worship Service are available from an usher upon request.
