2014 Mission Trip with MAMA Project Honduras - January 18-25, 2014 A team from SMC will travel to Honduras for a week in January 2014 to work with MAMA Project. If you’d like more information about this trip, please contact Rhonda Grieser at rkg.pac@gmail.com or at 610-473-2868. An informational meeting will be held on Sunday, June 23 at 10:15 a.m., during Sunday School, in the Fellowship Hall.
While in Honduras the team will travel from the MAMA Mission House in San Francisco de Yojoa to rural villages to cement floors and provide medical care. Individuals interested in serving with the team do NOT need to be medical professionals. Responsibilities vary from registering attendees, distributing donations, assessing for anemia, measuring blood pressure, and administering vitamins and deworming medicine. Mid-level providers and physicians perform clinical assessments and distribute medications. In addition, we mix and pour cement for 2-3 homes per village and this work is done by both males and females. On the last full day of the trip, baby bundles are distributed to patients at a Maternity Hospital in San Pedro Sula.
